Though, it is most sought out for it’s anti-depressant properties. If you’re like the millions of Americans who can’t take SSRIs due to the side effects they cause, St. John’s Wort may be an excellent alternative. It works in a similar way by  giving you more circulating Serotonin (the feel good brain chemical). It also has similar boosting effects on dopamine, and norepinephrine.

Most people report a greater sense of well being while taking St. John’s Wort and fewer depressive symptoms.
